The balance sheet value represents the Present Value of Social Security Payments starting on the principals retirement date and using the Social Security Life Tables, calculating the principal’s survival probability out to 120 years.
Inflation adjustment is calculated annually at the start of each year.
The SS recipient will start to receive benefits on their retirement age, based on their chosen year and then birth month.
The start date for SS recipient receiving benefits is TODAY.
If the retirement age is before the recipient’s current age, then the start date is TODAY.
If the SS recipient is currently receiving benefits, then no start date is necessary.
